Earth Day is an annual event and inmportant international day celebrated on 22 April every year. Earth Day is celebrated world wide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First Earth Day was celebrated on 22 April 1970 and since then it has been celebrated every year on 22 April. Earth Day 2021 will be celebrated on 22 April 2021 across the world. It’s the 52th Earth Day. This year the theme of Earth Day is 'Restore Our Earth'.  Earth Day 2021 theme features five programmes i.e. Canopy Project, Food and Environment, Climate Literacy, the Global Earth Challenge, and The Great Global CleanUp. 

Climate change and environmental degradations have broken our natural systems. These degradations leading to new and fatal diseases as well as a breakdown of the global economy. Climate change and coronavirus remind us of the harm that we have caused, Restore Our Earth reminds us of the opportunities that lay ahead to protect our earth. We must Restore Our Earth not just because we care about the nature and natural world but because we live on it. A healthy planet where we can live happily is not an option, it is a necessity.
